To help you create a good first impression once you have landed an interview, we have provided you with a list of tips to ensure you put your best foot forward.

Do your homework

One of the easiest ways to create a good first impression is to show your interviewer your interest in the company by doing a little research.

  1. Visit the company website to learn more about the corporate culture, the products, technologies and the clients.
  2. Review the job description of the position you are applying for to ensure you understand the role and the skills we are looking for. Figure out how your skills and experiences fit with this position so that you can market yourself as the best candidate.
  3. Create a list of questions that you have about the company, the department, the position. An interview is an opportunity for the both the candidate and the employer to feel each other out to determine if there is a good fit.

Create a marketing plan for yourself

The best person to sell you is you.

  1. Figure out how your skills and experience will mesh with the role you are interested in.
  2. Know your resume and skill set in detail.
  3. Prepare specific examples that will highlight skills or experiences you think will be valuable to the role.

Dress for success
